This is a unique, yet short lived time, where you can mix fall accessories with a summer wardrobe. My current look for that warm, yet not so humid September day, consisted of a black floppy hat that I purchased at a tiny boutique in Little Italy in NYC... Fall is an excellent time to start wearing hats once again, the decrease in sweltering heat and humidity finally makes it bearable! I also wore a loose fitting periwinkle tank top (Express) and my favorite black skinny jeans (H&M). I must own at least 8 pairs of the same jeans, since they work so well with almost every outfit! The shoes I wore are black stilettos (Charlotte Russe) I often wear these 6 inch platform heels because I'm very petite and significantly shorter than the industry standard for a model.
I kept the jewelry simple, a black and silver bangle (Macy's) and a pair of delicate, pink flower earrings (Betsey Johnson). Ever since I can remember Betsey Johnson has always been my favorite designer! I have always gravitated towards her use of bright pinks, tutu inspired dresses and funky style... Which is why it is rare to find such a simple piece of jewelry from her collection.
The makeup used for this look remained very simple. To help conceal my dark circles I used Bobbi Brown tinted eye brightener in Bisque 3. Next I applied my favorite blush by Guerlain in 02 Brunettes Hâlées across my cheekbones and Urban Decay eye-shadow from the original Naked palette in Toasted. Finally, to pull my look together I applied lip gloss by Trish McEvoy in Gorgeous Pink Shimmer!
My hair remained wild and unkempt, since I refused to brush it from the day before. I like messy hair. Messy hair works, regardless of what you may have been taught over the years. Perfect is boring. I find people much more intriguing when their outfits are styled and put together, while a part of them remains somewhat unpolished and untamed. It is the person who makes the outfit, not the other way around!
