La Selva, when translated into Spanish, means “The Jungle”. It is a brand created and developed by up-and-coming designer Celina Paiz. The one-of-a-kind clothing line is composed of unique sundresses, leggings, bandeaus and t-shirts, along with exotic one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry and accessories.
Celina makes it a priority to stay true to her heritage, which is why a majority of the materials used to make the clothing are handmade textiles imported from Guatemala. It is essential for Celina to keep her culture alive by incorporating these unique, handmade pieces of art into her collection.
Preserving the tradition of making handmade textiles is also highly important to the designer. Which is why a portion of all sales are donated to Guatemala’s national textile museum, known as the Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena.
The La Selva headbands are quite possibly one of the most popular accessories the brand has to offer. They are available in a wide variety of vivid colors and exotic patterns, and are also made from imported, handmade textiles. The best part about the headbands is the inner bendable frame, which conveniently helps you mold and shape them into various hairstyles!
Whether you want to liven up your wardrobe or you're preparing for the summer, here are several examples of how to use and wear these versatile headbands!
